William Hill Unveils New London Office

Announcements 27th March, 2018
William Hill reception area, designed by Modus Workspace, featuring a wooden desk with white accents, a bold blue and yellow 'William Hill' logo on the wall, minimalist lighting, and a seating area with black chairs and a grey sofa.

William Hill wanted to bring various business elements from multiple London locations into a unified, central environment that would set the stage for the next chapter in the history of this iconic brand.

We collaborated closely with the William Hill property team and their consultants, Penn Partnership, to review potential buildings and refine the initial brief. The chosen location at The Avenue, Tottenham Court Road, was familiar territory for us, as we had recently completed the new Skyscanner offices on the upper floors.

This new William Hill office marks a significant departure from their previous setups. Gone are the private offices, instead everyone from the CEO to junior staff works in an open-plan layout with identical desk sizes.

A standout feature of the design is the variety of meeting spaces and collaboration areas, ranging from formal meeting rooms to stand-up benches, diner booths, and soft seating areas. A spacious staff breakout area also serves as an internal meeting space.

At the heart of the design is a large, flexible meeting area centred around a new interconnecting staircase that links the two main working floors. The structural opening for the staircase was deliberately oversized to enhance visual connectivity between the levels.

This space features sliding screens that can be used to divide and define areas as needed. It also serves as a venue for town hall meetings, with tiered seating around the base of the staircase where company presentations are filmed and shared with other William Hill offices globally.

This new approach to office working has proven to be a winner for William Hill, empowering team collaboration and creating a dynamic, modern workspace that reflects the company’s forward-thinking vision.
